Pretty sure you are right. I have a store display that pictures many cards in a sheet like this - I'll see if I can dig it out if I get a chance.

Picked this up a few years ago at a show in Canada. I hadn't seen the store display before - was surprised it featured 3/4 of the set. These were pretty nice looking cards, and were licensed to use the team helmets (unlike the Topps cards of that era).

This is a great display item. Looks like the three I have were possibly cut down from a sheet like that to advertise for the store. The back damage looks like it might be from a type of two-sided tape.

I've never heard of Stop & Go cards. Was this a Canadian issue only? Any Jets in this series I could be chasing?

I guess I really never noticed that some teams weren't represented in the set. I am not sure where Stop-n-Go stores were located, but maybe the player choice was somewhat regional? Lots of Hall of Famers, so maybe they were concentrating on the more successful/playoff teams of that time?
Edit - The internet is a great thing! Looks like primarily Texas based... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nation...enience_Stores Last edited by laughlinfan; 08-16-2017 at 04:25 PM. |
