To be nice to my fellow board members, many times I list a card too cheap (like this one) and I think the problem is that people believe its too good to be true.

So it doesn't sell and then I either list it on eBay and it sells for what it should normally go for, or I just bump the price here to get it more in line with what it's actually worth.

I understand the phenomenon of cards selling for more in an auction style format while the same card could have been had for less at a fixed price...it happens on ebay and in auctions all the time. I guess its just hard to understand how someone could seriously justify increasing their asking price in a B/S/T thread when the card didn't sell at their original asking price. Maybe I'll just wait a week for you to bump it to $210, that way I won't feel like your pulling a fast one on me

The Williams sold today at the Sports Cards of Houston show for my $190 original asking price. It was bought by a dealer and there is no doubt in my mind that he will mark it up and flip it (and good for him). But if you still want to buy it at the higher price, just PM me and Ill give you the dealer's contact info and you can buy it from him.

It happens every day in life and not just for cards.

Unfortunately, I didn't hear back from him and that's when I listed it in the live auction. The strategy obviously works. I can give you many examples of this in every day life with many other products.

Looking at past sales, I'm not convinced $190 was a bargain, I would say it's pretty much in line to averaging high. Six sales (PSA 5) had an average sale price of $177.03 before shipping. High 207.5 low 153.33

How much did the last blue line '56 Williams SGC 60 sell for, or are you lumping all the variations together?

That's fair. I lumped them all together as I did not think any of the variations sold for a premium.
