While these posts create a great vibe going into the National, do they ever work? I went to my first last year and was completely overwhelmed. Almost light headed and dizzy with the sensory overload. Believe me, I couldn't keep track of my wish list much less yours.
Everyone have a blast. Wish I could get there but not possible this year.

Steve, while I have never had anyone find anything on my wantlist at a show, I have 1) found cards for other collectors that were coming up for auction which were not advertised yet, 2) remembered seeing a card at a show a board member wanted a few weeks later and was able to put the buyer and seller in contact with each other. So it is definitely possible. Over the past few years I have kept an eye out for a couple collectors and they have done the same for me. Usually this resulted in us just making sure each other saw upcoming auctions, but with the rarity of most of the cards on my wantlist, any possible leads I can get are appreciated.

I hear you. Particularly if some dealer on this board knows another dealer selling what you are looking for. I just recall last year feeling totally overwhelmed. Crazy overwhelmed. Was exhausted at the end of the day. Like being in Disney World.

For the guys flying to the National that plan on making on large purchases, how do you travel with all that $? Do you get cashiers checks?

If someone had a day to kill at the National and printed a list of every card here and was even able to track down 10% of them, they could make quite a nut in 5% finders fees....like a "pay for their whole trip then some" nut.
