Default Early Metal Spalding Sign

Love seeing all the great signs and advertising pieces...here's an early Spalding sign I have with my collection...

Not sure why the pic is sideways...sorry, maybe someone else knows how to edit/fix it for you all...

Wow, Lowenbrau. Do they even still make that beer?

Love that Giants banner. I always thought they were on WOR-TV, not PIX.

also had that type Spalding sign that I sold to Bushings 20 years ago. Found it in an auto repair shop as it was covering a hole in the loft floor which I could see from the ground. Said I could have it if I filled in the space with something else

Great sign! It's about 1900 to 1905. Great overall display too - would love to see more.

Got this from the shop I worked at as a kid in the 70's when it changed locations. It's big about 4'x6'.

Default Ad Signs

Wow! These signs are unbelievable.

I especially like the recent Spalding and Gehrig. I'm sure that Giants piece will be a favorite as well.

Clint... do you have that displayed somewhere? That thing looks huge!

Mark, I don't have it up yet but am going to do it very soon. You have some amazing Oriole signs. I'll also agree that the Spalding signs are incredible.

Default Ad sign?

I'm not sure this really fits as an advertising sign, but I'll post it anyway. If it doesn't fit just scroll past it really fast...

The Earl photo was in one of the Ezrine Auto Centers in 1978. I have a couple of these with different players pictured and the photos were basically just glued to a wooded type frame with a plaque attached. Most have come off of the frame, but if I ever display I'll glue 'em back on.

Thanks for the compliments, Joe, I guess?? Anyway, I love the sign...don't know much about it, figured it was around TOC...just has killer eye appeal to me and certainly makes the display with all the early Spalding gloves/equipment around it. That's actually a pic from last year, I've added a few more nice items to the display. I'd gladly post a few more pics of the display, sign and other displays I have...however I'm pretty sure all the pics would end up sideways like the first one, and maybe it's not the proper thread to post collection pics, as again it's my only advertising sign in the collection. Don't want to upset anyone here, which seems easy to do at times Anyone is welcome to contact me about my collection, always love to chat with fellow collectors...email me and I'll forward some pictures for you

Eric,

Just post the Spalding sign in every picture of your collection and you'll meet the terms and conditions of the thread

Really how can anyone get upset over awesome memorabilia. If they do they'll get over it. Post away...

Here's a fairly modern cheapy mirror, but it's got Brooks on it so I like it.

To keep this interesting thread going, I thought I'd post one for Cubbies fans.
I'm sure many of you are familiar with the Chicago Cubs tobacco tins...

Wow Brent

I've never seen or heard of this piece before. Did it come from a major auction house?

Dang...very nice...what's the dimensions?...the way they're making fakes these days...It's to the point now where I want to see some wear...If that was mint...or even just good condition it would make me worry...Congrats on a great find...even if it was 7 years ago...

This is the original artwork to a Little Golden Book (1960) for one of the pages of Flags. Its large, pristine and colorful. More importantly it reminds me that if not for these guys generation, I couldn't collect or have anything I enjoy.
