Yes. Leafs executive Collection cuts are cards they make for people to send in to get a cut card made. People send in already authenticated autographs, and Leaf cuts them up and puts them in the card, then encapsulates the card.

+1

This was done by a collector at their request through the Leaf service, this card was never in a pack. Getting frustrated at this is like getting upset at a painter for the hot pink house down the street.

Yes, but the house can eventually be repainted by a new owner. Or the current owner can change their mind. In this instance, . . .

How could it possibly be better to have a part of the autographed item rather than the whole thing? This is just unbelievable.

Criminal? Let's not lose our sense or proportion there. These cuts were 100% done at the behest of their customer.

Its all about the money!! Cut auto 1/1 is worth more than a photo with an auto to modern collectors.

The cut autos still pale in comparison to cut up Ty Cobb bats, or cut up Babe Ruth uniforms, or cut up Lou Gehrig pants, etc. (if they are even real)

Couldn't they just give redemption card. I would rather have the whole picture.

Very sad

Yea I get it when they use a signed index card or canceled check. But ruining an autographed picture to create a modern card is ridiculous. Do collectors really spend more on a card like that than the picture would have sold for? I wouldnt.

I believe 90% of what the companies cut up (i.e vintage jerseys, bats etc) are bogus or not what they say they are. I think the originals they've bought at auction are stored nicely in the execs private vault. What do they care if they resurface 50 years from now? They got their money now. Easy to cut up vintage jerseys and bats from the goodwill.

I remember UD I think showing a Ruth jersey being cut up for swatch cards. Only watched part cubs made me sick.

Joe I agree with everything you say except I think you are about ten percent short on your estimate!

I remember many times in the 90's when sales reps from the card companies would call on me at our wholesale warehouse and give me numbered autographed cards. I would say aren't these limited and in packs to which they would just laugh! Numbered and limited my butt!!!
