Sorry, Leon. I wasn't sure if it was the right one or not, but either way, I knew you would move it if it wasn't. Hopefully it isn't/wasn't much trouble?

![]() ![]() 2008 Upper Deck - Multi-Product Insert Yankee Stadium Legacy #YSL6742 - Andy Pettitte Courtesy of COMC.com This set has 6,742 consecutively numbered cards, one for each game at the original Yankee Stadium. I think they did a major redemption for the first person to put together a complete set, since this "insert set" was inserted into multiple 2008 Upper Deck products. http://www.beckett.com/news/arkansas...cy-collection/ 2008 Upper Deck Documentary has almost 5,000 cards just for the 2008 season.

1972 Topps was a basic major league set with 787 cards. Maybe that's the one you're looking for with this question.

But then, for master set collectors, this one has tens of thousands of cards. Does this count?

1992 score had 910 cards. I believe that is the largest regular issue set.

I think the Topps Total Baseball sets were short of that at 880 to 900 in the early 2000s....2002-2004. The base sets for those years were smaller

Either way, 910 cards is a lot of cards to collect pack by pack! I can imagine those that collecting the 52 Topps set found it quite daunting, so I can't imagine someone having to collect over twice that amount! Thanks for the info guys! ![]()

Well, remember in the 90s most stores sold 45-count rack packs. We didn't have to rely on 1 and 5 cent packs with 1 or 5 cards in it.

Having 45 in a rack pack would definitely make things easier, that's for sure!

You don't consider 2008 UD Documentary to be a regular issue set? I wasn't collecting back in that timeframe, but figure it was kind of like buying cards in the 50s and 60s with different series of cards.

no trouble at all...takes 5 seconds. I know there is a lot of off topic on the front page but regular, ordinary questions about other things should go in the correct sections. Again, not a big deal. And that being said, if someone posts something in the correct section, other than the front page, and it gets no responses, they should pm me to see if it can go on the front page for a bit to elicit a possible answer.

The 93 Topps set was their biggest base set, but the 3 Topps Total Baseball sets mentioned above are bigger ( 880/900).
I still buy all the Topps base sets , plus any Traded or Update set each year. In 93 I picked up 3 base sets because Topps issued inaugural sets for the Marlins and Rockies that year. They are the same as the regular set but have stamps, similar to the Desert Shield sets, with Marlins or Rockies logos |

I know I linked a thread from Post War in my post, but because I didn't know if large sets existed in pre war, I took a chance and thought the homepage was likely the best place to cover my question as it would cover both, or all sections/years?

"Including all variations, the complete number of unique base cards is 12,475." So this is probably the correct answer.

If you are binder guy and were putting that set in a bunch of them and get almost done and realize you skipped one and need to start over you might need medication

The 1975-76 Japanese Calbee baseball card set has 1364+ cards including several subsets (All-Star game 1-36 and 861-932). This set is a MONSTER with so many different cards of the same player. Lots of really cool photography. A great link is here:
