Doctor, Doctor, Give Me a Dean-ectomy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the love of crap, is there a way to eliminate Dean's Cards from all aspects of my life?????? Maybe by removing the part of my brain or optic nerve that makes me see their non-stop torrent of ridiculously stupid pricing that is visible everywhere a collector goes to look?????????? No matter where I go these days--ebay, Amazon, COMC, and on and on--the site is infected by this joke of an organization. I can't take it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm tired of constantly entering (-dean) in every single internet search I do to rid me of this pathetic pest. There's gotta be a simpler way of eliminating this scourge from all aspects of my life at the same time. Anyone?? Anyone??
Look at today's offering that I stumbled across causing me to lose my mind. A completely off-centered/miscut 1972 Expos Team card that you can find anywhere for a couple of bucks or less. There are untold millions of this card available everywhere you look. Yet, to get it from the genius known as Dean, it would cost you $172.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And no, it's not a typo. It's their SOP. Holy freaking heck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1972exposteam.jpg

Good god that's terrible even by Dean's standards. I used to judge market prices of cards as Deans/5 ... Maybe I should change to Deans/100.

You can block sellers on searches from eBay. Click the "Advanced" button on the search page, scroll down to the Sellers section. Click the checkbox and change "Include" to "Exclude" and type in "deans_cards".

I love how they also charge $2.99 shipping on top.

I thought a Deanectomy was what you got when you bought something.

.................. tell me about it.
The other day I listed some cards. When I did a "recently listed" search, I noticed my cards were shuffled in between 100's on his over priced stuff ............. as a result, I have noticed my looks and watchers are way below normal Not fun, Scott |

Is there a way to -dean on comc. It pollutes every search.

Not to my knowledge. Dean's on COMC is a thing, but at least all their raw cards have black backgrounds so you can tell them apart. I will email them and see if they can add a "Ignore remote locations" checkbox because that would effectively hide Dean's listings, since he keeps them at his place in St. Louis (?). If you buy a Dean's card, they get packaged and shipped to COMC within a day or two.

When it comes to Dean and COMC, I just put the cards in order from cheapest to more expensive, that way I'm assured I see his listings last. It never fails.

The search function on COMC is horrible, worst part of COMC in my opinion.

I have been trying to complete my 1952 Bowman Large football set for almost five years. It's a pretty tough set with a bunch of rookie cards and short prints.
Friday morning when I checked my email, I had notices from eBay that some of the cards I watch had new listings. Three of the four cards I need for my 1952 Bowman Large set had been added! When I checked the listings, all were from Deans Cards. I admit to usually not paying much attention to his sales. Months ago, I abandoned my attempt to get these cards at 10% book or less, and moved my threshold to 20% book price or less. Two of the three cards met this criteria, and the third was close enough for me! I checked and double checked my math, and pulled the trigger on all three cards. I posted more detail over on the Football Cards "New Acquisitions" thread. I bought and paid for these cards on Friday, and the USPO attempted to deliver yesterday (Monday) but I was not home to sign for them. I picked up the cards at the Post Office this morning. They were shipped for free. In total these cards cost me 19.8% NM "book" value, and I am quite happy to have them in hand! Larry

He has good customer service and back scans, and will bargain off line. Hate them if it suits you.

Bought this beauty today for $244 (cash equivalent) from Dean's:
Good looking card. And I bought four of his autographed cards on COMC and sent them in to PSA and they all passed (Rollie Fingers RC, 1976 Gary Carter, 1955 Bowman card, and 1971 Luzinski RC). He also normally undergrades his cards or they look sharp for the grade. Sure, on high grade raw cards he prices them like PSA graded cards, but hey, someone must buy one every once in a while. Every once in a while, I even find instances where his EXMT cards are priced less than cards in COMC's Good to VG-EX bucket and actually consider buying his cards to flip. Only done it on some variation cards so far though.

I wanted to post a follow up to my last post, those three 1952 Bowman Large football cards I bought from Deans Cards. Every set collectors "nightmare", when I went to put these cards away I discovered #108 was already in there! I had forgotten to cross it off my list!
Normally I would just live with my mistake, put the extra card in my doubles box, swear I would never do that again, and sulk for a couple hours. But I spent $200 on that card! I've never bought very much from Deans cards, but according to their website they offer 100% Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee. I wasn't going to lie to them, so I called them and told the truth, that I made a mistake and I did not need the card. I was told no problem return the card and we will refund your money. I mailed the card Wednesday (just two days ago), tracking shows arrival today Friday, and now at 5PM I have $200 from Deans Cards in my PayPal account. Why they list some of their cards for ridiculous prices I do not know. The OP displayed a 1972 Topps Expos team card that is a $2 card that Deans has listed for $170 Buy It Now. But their customer service is outstanding. Larry

I'm glad they have good customer service; because my sales are slow or maybe I expect to much; but they are double my price on 99% of the same cards in the same grade that I have listed. I don't know how they sell so much.
