Are you sorting by "Recent Bids"; I only see 1 (Chief Bender) in the last 50 bids.

Very confusing!

I, earlier, like hours ago, watched the Mickey Mantle countdown and was fully expecting some snipe bids in the dying seconds but not only didn't I see any, the auction automatically added another 15 minutes.
The bid at that time, hrs ago, was $140,000. Just checking now, it is still at $140,000?

Do they just keep bumping this up hoping more people bid or is there a method to their madness?

It's got to be hell for the current winning bidder watching this auction go on and on with no new bids coming in!

Just did, again, but I guess I'll have to read it again and again.

I have never bid in a A/H auction before so maybe this is the norm? If so, then I guess I still have lots to learn.

Thanks John.

If anyone places a bid on any one of the thousands of lots in their auction the 15 minutes clock for the entire auction is reset. They are still getting 8-10 bids on various items every minutes. So the 15 minute thing will just be rest and reset until (a) no one bids on any lot for 15 minutes or (b) they just called a code on the auction and shut it down, which most auction houses do after a FINAL WARNING email of some kind.

They will likely go until the 12am ET time and then call it. Bidding is still feverish.
Other auctionhouses either reset the countdown timer after every bid, or they close certain lots individually unless people keep bidding on those specific lots. REA uses "any bid on any lot extends the whole auction 15 minutes". Except they actually extend the 9:15 pm end time to 9:30.

Surprised nobody at all bid on that signed Mack OJ. What a stellar card if you had 20k to spare!

Really would love them to adopt the individual item clock. That makes the auction better to watch as an individual. They have run it this way for years, doubt things change anytime soon.

Seems to me the bid intervals on REA are pretty inflated at the higher levels, so a lot of the pricey stuff hits a realistic sale price fairly quickly and then stalls.

For example, I can imagine where something that might look decent at $65,000 ($78,000), doesn't look quite so appetizing at $70,000 ($84,000).

Maybe their increments are the same as others. Great auction house and no one can deny that.

It is actually $6,000.

There was a lull for a while, but now three of the eight most recent bids were T3s.

I still wonder if it's just a couple bidders?
