WOW, That slab has been cracked open and that is probably not the original card to that slab. I would stay far far away from that card. The scammer doesn't even know how to crack a PSA slab, damn novices.

A PSA cert look up shows that it should have a Piedmont back:

If you collect T206s long enough, it takes you less than 1 second to determine if it is real or fake. But this one has me stumped. Here are the facts:

- very dark ink in relation to the wear and tear
- super dark Old Mill back
- damage looks natural though
- name looks natural and in dark brown ink
- PSA cert says Piedmont, card is actually Old Mill
- case looks cracked
- something about Cobb's face looks off
- rest of card looks ok

Another scan of the card is archived here: (from previous owner?)

Just a few things that I notice with the card are that the black on his hat is way to dark and you cannot see any of the detail of the cap, his uniform is also to dark, and the name and team look black to me. This is just from comparing to the picture on T206 Resource. My thought on this is fake.

I'm a raw guy myself, so not horribly familiar with cracked cases. But as guy who has eyed lower condition vintage for almost 2/3rds of my life the card itself looks real to me. Here is a scenario: this case was cracked and a real nice looking Cobb, perhaps with some back damage, came out, and in goes this authentic but beat up Cobb.

Man I have a lot of cards that look like this, so it better be real.

Brian

Whew! Now I know that I shouldn't toss out my collection and switch to another hobby.

Nice low-con Cobb.

Yeah this one seems pretty tough but i would veer away given the fact that it is a questionable card and the registry has it as a different back. It's always possible the registry could be mistaken but given the circumstances I would just play it safe.
