I don't believe they have enough time to evaluate cards to look at your previous submissions. There are conspiracy theorists who will tell you that they monitor every card you send in.
I have to question your thought of cracking out a high end 8.5. Why not just send it in for a review in the holder first? Why pay all that money (presumably) to have a top copy, only to bust it out and hope for the best?
