That is some solid adivice Joe thanks very much. I do love that Ruth card in the auction. It's just a bad time for that to show up now. I will have to do another tour in Afghan to get the funds for that, which is no problem. I should buy a house there by now lol.

Poker- I might have to go with the Red for now, but maybe get the Green when I get back from Turkey this summer. I just hope they don't kill me in price by then.

You could get a great Johnson portrait for $2K.

Can't go wrong with a Walter Johnson t206 portrait. One of the nicest looking cards, bar none. IMO.

Not trying to tell you what to do but if ur waiting for specific paychecks to buy a baseball card I might re-think things a bit, just my thought. If you were to buy something I think the Johnson portrait in as high a psa level as you can find is the card to buy.

Have to agree with the last two posters. Not a 206 collector but certain cards seem to epitomize entire sets. A few being, in my opinion, 1948 Leaf Jackie R./56 Topps Mantle/Any 33 Goudey Ruth and the mentioned T 206 Johnson portrait. Something about that gold back ground that really makes that pop. Good luck with your search and thanx for the service.

Can I add another option? E90-1 Honus Wagner (Batting) pose. You could get a PSA 2 for that price and is MUCH scarcer than any other card you mentioned. If you must go off your list then I would go with Ruth. Face it, Joe Public doesn't really care about baseball history....but EVERYONE knows Babe Ruth. It transcends the hobby and is a quality value piece.
