2016 Topps Transcendent

Picked up a Reggie during the flash sale last week, as a type card.

Card arrived today. What an interesting product. For those who haven't handled one of these yet, here is the skinny:

The card has a 1/8" wide polished metal rim that frames the card front and back. It is heavy. The card weighs over an ounce by my scale. The cardboard part itself is just basic printed card stock. White stock on both sides. No coatings or specialty finishes other than the silver foil detailing that makes up the diamond framing the picture and the stamped number on the card front. The cardboard part is about as thick as a memorabilia card.

Updating this thread, the Transcendent brand has continued and the more it does the more accessible the base older cards get. And the base cards are under 100 cards of each, so it is a nice type or player collectible.

Hadn't seen this before, or even knew of these before.

Now I have a couple of Ripken's in my watch list.

Pretty good chance that after a couple of Bourbon's tomorrow night I'll own one or more autos.
