Bumped into George Foster
I was in a card shop last week, when George Foster came in. He was in great shape (looked like he could still play, although he's probably 66 or so now). We talked with him about his greatest memories (e.g. He was the reason Sparky had Rose move to 3rd base - to get his bat in the lineup). I had forgotten about his MVP season in 1977 (52 HRs and 149 RBI's - WOW).
Scurrying to find a card of Foster to sign, I located a 1977 (his MVP season) card and had him sign it. I realize this isn't a super vintage card or anything, but it was a great experience.
