Have no actual idea what it is but is it possible to be a mail bag of some sort? I'm sure fan mail pored in to all teams and they needed a way to separate, sort, deliver etc.
Again I have no idea but with only eyelets for a drawstring I doubt it was used to travel with. Only kept in one area.

A quick google search of "1950's mail bag" came up showing a few bags similar with US MAIL stamped instead of Brooklyn Dodgers.

I have a US Army WWII duffel bag, stamped with a soldiers name, that is virtually the same thing, with the eyelets. I think the Dodgers used this as a general duffel bag that could be used to store and transport just about anything - clothes, equipment, gear, etc..

That's awesome.

I'm hoping the 14-39-42 are player numbers.

That would be insane.

I'm not sure what they were used for . They are heavy duty so you really could carry anything . I was hoping a photo would surface with these pictured to solve the mystery
