There are a bunch of bad-looking swings on cards from the early 20th century. It makes me wonder how high the level of baseball really was back then if so many players seemingly had lousy form. Here's a card I plucked off eBay that shows one of those swings. I can't image generating much power hitting off one leg ...

it's not just a 19th century/pre-war thing!

for a guy with over 3,000 hits and arguably the best inside out swing of all time, you'd never know it with his follow-through on this card from 1992:

Here's some from the land of Zees. Obviously some cards in the group shots are of players that are not batting...just try to enjoy them anyway.

I like how "Downs" is looking straight up. Normally an instant recognition of a pop out. The Kashin in the first post just reminds me of a slap hitter like Ichiro.
