I recently looked into consigning 3 cards worth a total of $10K to a particular AH. I was told that there was a 15% sellers fee on top of a 20% buyer's premium. In other words, a 35% margin for the AH.

Considering that this particular AH's catalogs look more like a grocery store circular, I did not see the justification in offering 35% of the selling price to this entity.

Still looking to consign. I wish there was a resource that outlined the different fees for each of the AHs.

I'm not a Mensa candidate, Mike, but I'm confident I understand what was told to me and the simple math involved. When I pushed back, I was told this is standard practice with most AH's. I'm not confident that's the case, however; hence my decision to look elsewhere.

Gosh, being able to shop for vintage cards, cheap whiskey and bananas in one place would be very appealing to me.

Steve,
Gary said the key word - NEGOTIATE!! If you have a front-of-the-catalog item to consign, you shouldn't be paying a seller's commission, and you should be able to snag a nice slice of the BP.
