a very young Dennis Galehouse , in the minors until 1936....a refugee from the poster.. ...I had just started cleaning the poster-child (temporarily and carefully unseated for removal of 81 years worth of cigar smoke and grime) when the graded one became available so despite the fountain pen "1935" on the otherwise blank back I bought it...... ..doesn't come up often..He won a world series game in 1944 pitching for the Browns as I recall.....lost one, too... .. |

This lot of N43 Allen & Ginter World's Champions just arrived in the mail:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Player........................ Sport............Total graded by PSA/SGC James Albert ............ Pedestrian ... 21 C.W.V. Clarke ............ Walker ........ 12 W.G. George ............. Runner ....... 19 Jack Havlin ............... Pugilist ....... 13 F.F. Ives .................... Cyclist ........ 18 E.D. Lange ............... Walker ........ 17 Hugh McCormack ..... Skater ......... 22 Jack McGee .............. Pugilist ........ 21 Johnny Murphy ........ Pugilist ........ 17 L.E. Myers ............... Runner ........ 9 Wm. Sears .............. Tennis .......... 19 H.W. Slocum, Jr. ...... Tennis .......... 5 Percy Stone ............ Cyclist .......... 17 I am planning to work with 1880nonsports (Henry) to separate them from the paper backing and then may grade them. I ran the pops at SGC and PSA and the rarest one by population is Slocum, who only has 5 graded between both TPGs. Myers is the next lowest at 9 total. Who got the Buck Ewing from the same seller? He still has some Quadrupeds and Birds in large format for those nonsport collectors among you.

Just got this today, and gave it a bath. My first time soaking a card and I turned a Piedmont into a Tolstoi.

Nice Galehouse, Mike! I like the slight difference in the crop of the "poster-child."

Marty - awesome choice in Jennings. There's something pretty awesome about that orange-yellow that is so prevalent in his cards.
Luke - Wow! That is amazing! Was the "finger in air" the toughest? |

Thanks Derek and NJ! I've only been looking for 2-3 years, but in my experience yes. My copy is the only one I'm aware of that has sold in that time period.

Joe DiMaggio was so new to the card company that they spelled his last name wrong.
Card is rather large. Measuring 4"x 5 3/8" I love this card. --Ben Jordan |

Picked up this cool Danny Shea 1911 Obak. Noticed it had printer's marks on 3 of the 4 borders which is unusual for Obaks.

I got this 1933 R306 Butter Cream card of catcher Herold (incorrectly spelled Harold on the card) "Muddy" Ruel with the scarcer "Sept. 1st" back in last week's MHCC auction to join my example of this card with the easier "Oct. 1" back. Ruel spent the best 8 years of his 19-year MLB career with the Washington Senators, and one thing he is remembered for is scoring the winning run in the 12th inning of the 7th game of the 1924 WS, which provided Washington with its only WS Championship to date (maybe next year the Nats will win it!) and made WaJo the winning pitcher in relief. I love it when a pickup fits both my type-card collection and my collection of 1924 Senators players.
