The first 2 I did pretty good on, the second 3 not so much...Rarity doesn't equal value. I have been trying to tell myself that for close to 20 yrs now...

Yeah, I remember bidding on those two, and getting blown away long before extended bidding began.

There should be a Net54 "great quotes" section with this one near the top!

I have lost some money thinking along those lines as well.

Rarity means low supply, but there's that other nasty price component called "demand"!

Default Loudermilk

Pete,

For long-term comparison, my 1993 Beckett says:

T207 Loudermilk: $1,000 VG-EX (raw); $2,500 EX-MT (raw)

T206 Cobb Bat On: $800 VG-EX (raw); $2,000 EX-MT (raw)

(Note: This is at the height of the early 1990s BB card bubble).

Hypothetically, would you trade your SGC 40 Loudermilk for an SGC 40 Cobb Bat On?

Scot

Edited to add: Oh, I see yours is a Red Cross. Never mind.

Lowdy is gone...I took a little beating on him. Obviously I would not make that trade...not even factoring in the back of lowdy!

I guess I overpaid on every item I've ever won at auction - or, at least I paid more than anyone else thought it was worth!
