It is coppper and looks better when cleaned up and polished. I am not sure if it will or will not work this piece.

That has always been one of my favorites as well Bob. The unique form, extreme quality, and craftsmanship set it apart. And who doesn't love dogs?!?!?! The copper is also pretty darn cool

Your great trophies remind me of one of my favorite items, the championship trophy awarded to the 1910 Raymond (WA) Cougars. The Washington State League was a class D professional league from 1910 to 1912.
Franchises included the Aberdeen Black Cats, Chehalis Gophers and Proteges, Hoquiam Loggers, Centralia Pets, Montesano Farmers, Raymond Cougars and South Bend River Rats.
Fielder Jones was player manager for the Chehalis team in 1910, just four years removed from leading the "Hitless Wonders" to a 1906 World Series victory.
