Gotta love it. Especially cool to have related content on the back. Not sure how they came up with "first homecoming ever". I bought a group of college football postcards a few years back. This one indicated a 1910 homecoming game. No biggie, your card is awesome no matter how you slice it.

David:
Wikipedia - as we know - ain't the gospel, but it sure comes up near the top of many a Google search. I'm familiar with the University of Illinois postcards - have quite a few myself, but didn't even think of cross-referencing the Wikipedia entry prior to posting my MO vs KS postcard...the U of I cards are well-known for their clear images and content, and in addition to sports (of which there are many examples for a number of years), IMO they're all great. thanks for the reply and the info, and YES, it's a cool card, as is yours. many thanks to everybody who responded - IF I didn't/haven't yet responded individually to all replies from this/every other thread in which I've posted or made; nevertheless all replies are always appreciated, positive OR negative (I've got amazingly thick skin!)
![]() love this unique postcard and the (newly-found) history behind it, even if said information is via Wikipedia, which - as we know - isn't always the most reliable/concrete source of indisputable information -ref: David - Kawika's- 1910 U of I reply, for example- ![]() DS |
