Congrats!
I am doing the same thing, getting rid of my (non-PC) modern and acquiring mostly vintage. I picked up my first two T206s at a show today. They are certainly "well loved," but it is history I can hold and both cost me $10 total.

So probably shouldnt have read this thread as I appear to be developing an itch. I have always been a "pre war" guy but that is the Vietnam War.

I thought they looked great!! (what was there and left of them). They are survivors. You should scan them and post them here. I assure you there are a lot of members who collect cards exactly like that.
As for the gold borders, I have always said T205s are some of the best looking cards in the hobby. Eventually I will get another Cobb....one of my all time fave cards. Quote:
