Eric Lindros in the Hockey HOF

Personally, I am glad he made it in. I never missed a home game when he played with the Oshawa Generals back in 89-92.

I know there a lot who dislike him for various reasons but like Bobby Clarke said, all that off the ice was just baggage. What he did on the ice is what counts.

Totally agree, Irv. When he was healthy and on his game, The Big E was truly a force to be reckoned with. In a lot of ways he reminded me of Frank Mahovlich -- gifted with incredible physical ability but not always in sync with what was going on around him. At the top of their game, both guys could leave the opposition -- and fans -- spellbound by the enormity of their skill set. Now that Lindros is in, the next long-overdue inductee should be Theo Fleury.

Good for him. He was my favorite when I was a kid. I'm from Texas and I just liked the guy. His attitude towards certain areas of Canada also appealed to me as a dumb kid.

865 points in 760 NHL games by a player who could do it all and not have anyone protecting him like some others who played back then, I'd say he had a great career.

Loved watching him play! Like I mentioned, I never missed a home game. When the Oshawa Generals acquired Rob Pearson, watching the pair of them play together was unbelievable!

Rob's career was short lived. (Known trouble maker, who, despite Eric's best efforts, never smartened up, sadly)

Rob Pearson is still active in youth Hockey today however, which imo, means he did mature at least somewhat? (Leafs sweater)

Congrats Eric! Lindros, LeClair, Rendberg...............The Legion Of Doom as they were called were almost unstoppable. It was a great pleasure watching them for a several years. Lindros was a monster. He could handle the puck, score, issue punishing hits. It was a lot of fun being a Flyers fan back then.

I am also so glad one of my favorite goalies made it. Vachon was always one of my favorite non Flyers players. He deserves the H.O.F.

Wish he could have stayed healthy. What a career he would have had. I bought up tons of those Score Rookie cards back in the day, but they never did make me as rich as I thought they were going to. LOL!!

I have a few of those cards too, as well as some others like I have posted.

I guess looking back, I don't believe I ever purchased/obtained those cards looking to get rich but did so just because I thought the guy was an awesome hockey player and a hometown hero.

Not to say I don't wish those cards were worth something now, but even then, I am not so sure I'd sell them?

Great article about Eric and how all the controversy back then has all been accepted today.

He continues to do a lot for hockey, even today.

I have a friend who's a Flyers fan, I sent him a message saying that I hope the HHOF exhibit included a photo of Lindros with all the Stanley Cups he won with the Flyers. He didn't like that too much....
