1961 & 1962 Post Baseball think stock?

Thanks for the info. I will get pics up as soon as I can of what I have. It isn't really even a thin paper stock. The paper feels almost crinkly like wax paper. Almost as if they were peeled off a surface, i.e. had been laminated on cardboard.

Sounds like someone skinned the paper thin glossy top layer from the thicker brown cardboard bottom layer at some point.

I believe Cliff is correct. I have a few (at least one?) like this. My theory is that the paper with card image on it was attached to the box cardboard during production. Over time or with help of humidity, the paper layer peeled away and became detached from the cardboard.

Does anybody have just the cardboard remaining from what was once a complete card?

I will have to look, but I think mine are from 1961 only.

Someone just told me life magazine had them. These are thin like a magazine paper.

The cards that were inserted into the April 13 1962 issue of Life magazine were made of a cardboard which is thinner than a standard card but much thicker than magazine page paper.
