One thing I remember is, when this thread was active, a PSA 4 '52 Topps Mantle could be had for about $14,000 (I think Adrian got his for a BIN of $14.1).

We have a phrase in the music industry, though less prevalent with the decline in physical product these days....a spectacular flop would ship gold, but return platinum.
