Great Card, Wrong Player Image

We have a member with an avatar showing a picture of Ken Hubbs posthumously gracing the front of Dick Ellsworth's 1966 Topps card.

I remember the 1969 Topps card of Aurelio Rodriguez showing an Angels batboy and a Gary Pettis card from some year also having a batboy showing.


I realize these are all post-war cards, they are the only ones I'm aware of.

Don Johnson really had a knack for getting into cards of other players. He Wally Pipped Pete Runnels from 1953 Topps card #219. I saw a copy of that card that Runnels signed and inscribed "This is actually Don Johnson".

Elmer Knetzer listed as Ed Konetchy on a D381 Fleischmann's Bakery card. Same thing happened on Knetzer's card with Konetchy's image:

Although Goodwin & Co. indicated the player shown on this card is Leech Maskrey, it is, in fact, James Macullar.

Matt Clark at SGC is kindly having the card reholdered/relabeled to reflect the proper information.

The N403 "Yum Yum" card labeled as Cap Anson, actually pictures Ned Williamson.

Also, the N300 John Clarkson, while picturing John, shows him with St Louis. Thing is, John never played for St Louis, and retired after the 1894 season. His brother Dad Clarkson played for St Louis from 1893-1895.

Contrary to what is indicated by this T210 card, this is not L.I. Mills. It is his Wilson teammate Miller who is also depicted with this same pose in the T209-II series.

This '56 Topps Aaron actully depicts Willie Mays sliding into home. Topps doctored the NY Giants uniform and air-brushed an "M" and a red bill on the cap.
