Another reason, outside of the card itself, is the PSA registry. He's got other cards like 1948-1953 Bowman and 1956,57,60 Topps, not to mention a few oddball sets that could be even cheaper, if you aren't headstrong on the 52 Topps.

Congratulations on the results. If the rest of your lots turned out as well as your 53 Mantle and 55 Clemente you should be very pleased.
