If the OP was courteous enough to let you know the card sold after he sent the counter offer he certainly did nothing wrong. Some sellers write in their listings any offer to buy takes precedence over pending negotiations. They shouldn't have to as it's just common sense.

Then new to the forum or not you did nothing wrong. Sounds to me like Taxman is just upset he lost the card over a few bucks. It happens. Sometimes when you're thinking about a purchase another person is as well. Wait too long and the chance may be gone. It has happened to me before.
