Default Lou Burdette Wallet Package!

Hi All:

I started this thread years ago asking if anyone had a Lou Burdette wallet like the one I had as a kid in the late 1950's.

If you look back you will see I first found a Ted Williams then finally the Burdette wallet.

Well, today's mail brought the below item that I think will finish off my quest. Never did I think I would find the original packaging for the Burdette wallet. As in other things that come in boxes, packages etc. we all threw away the packaging, because after all we were buying what was inside.

Now to find the Williams packaging!

Anyone have this or seen the Williams. Wonder if other players were issued by the A.J. Siris Products Corp?

Fred

Kids wallets were a big thing once. There's even a Soupy Sales wallet that has some kind of attribution to Topps. Someone sent me a picture of the sales brochure the Soupy's appeared in and I believe there was some connection to Aurora Products.

I need to find that brochure scan as it had other items too that may be related to some of the wallets above.

Default Leather Baseball Wallets

Very cool Lou Burdette wallet and original packaging! Congratulations on your pickup!

I found this ad in the Dec 2, 1949 NY Daily News. Not sure if these are the same wallets or not. I don't see Lou Burdette on this list, but it may not be all that were available.

Here's the Soupy Sales brochure-it was from Mattel not Aurora as I posted earlier. They had Universal Monster products in there too IIRC correctly but the link I had to that portion of the brochure is gone. So anything NS wallet-like from the early to mid 60's could have a Mattel connection if you are researching as it looks like Mattel didn't brand the products but did 3rd party manufacturing.

The Burdette wallet came out in late 1957 or early 1958 after the 1957 World Series. Those wallets were made eight years earlier, but it's possible the same manufacturers made the Burdette wallet years later.
