Hey Andrew:
I found a photo of your Dad! I had forgotten all about an article I wrote about Frank Nagy in the August 1974 Sports Scoop until another collector sent it to me awhile back. You can see the photo of your Dad, yours truly and Frank Nagy on page two. Best, Fred P.S. Sorry guys I can't figure out how to load so you can read the article. I kept trying but it would not load. I went to paint and kept reducing the scan until the upload would take. If anyone wants scan of the entire article PM me. I enlarged just the photos ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Leon; 03-12-2016 at 08:17 PM. |

Hey Fred
We have a limit on the size of the image that can be hosted in our s/w. In other words where it resides. However, if you send the article to me (email) I can host it on my personal site and post the pics here, as I do with some things which need to be larger to be seen better. Quote:

The first one is a bit blurry due to the scan being that way...but they are more readable now, especially for us older guys.

Fred, thanks!! Believe it or not I actually have the original photo
![]() ![]() Also, believe it or not but about an hour ago I was going through my family's old photos from the 70's and found about ten different photos from the day of my dad's 1970 convention in his basement. Hopefully I'll have a chance to scan them and post tomorrow evening. |

Reviving this thread one more time, because I now have yet another account of the legendary 1970 Aronstein convention, by another of the attendees -- Bob Jaspersen, editor/publisher of Sport Fan. It appeared in the May-June 1970 issue of Sport Fan, the first issue put out by Jaspersen following a 10-year gap due to health problems. Jaspersen lists the attendees of Aronstein's get-together and also mentions some of the other conventions that had recently happened or were planned, all of which I've written about in previous posts.
When I have time later this week, I'll post Jaspersen's series of Sport Fan articles from 1954-56 about his planned national sports collector's convention in Chicago in July 1956, and his postmortem after it fell through. ![]() ![]() |

Just a heads-up. This coming March 15th marks the 50th Anniversary of this event.
