Josh - I can't hold myself as knowledgeable enough to opine independently on authenticity. All I can go for are the seller (seems legit) and its graded. Maybe others can weigh in on an cardboard analysis. I can't.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, the seller sure seems legit and the bids are rolling in.
My first evaluation is that it's legit and will end up around the 7-9k mark.

I tried comparing to better examples.
My 1st thing was looking at the red box. It has the shift to the right and up into the yellow part correct. That's good. The only thing is the darkness of the blue hat and red color bibb. I wish they had lighten the scan, looks like they had the lid open in a dark room. And the back words are so dark black. I cant compare it to anything yet. But I did not sleep at a Holiday Inn
As for the seller and grading, I concur looks legit.

Big fan of the incomparable Satchel Paige.
Check out Larry Tye's bio "Satchel, The Life and Times of an American Legend" if you haven't yet.

Default PSA 2 arrived today

Registration is pretty good! very faint left edge crease and bottom staining are the big detractors

Better scans

Nice card. The Bowmam is a terrific card; terribly underrated if you ask me.

Here's a pretty early image of Paige along with his 1935 Bismarck teammates, including Hilton Smith (rookie year)........

This is a 6 card set from J.W. Morey, 3 of which are autographed (the Ted Page insignia is a print I believe). I don't think it ever developed into a registered set on PSA, but a pretty unique Paige card upper left nonetheless.
