How did this turn out? I would have liked to see this discussion on the football board - I think it would have got more attention there. In my opinion, I don't see much likelihood in someone counterfeiting this issue and if so doing so such that the cards present in low grade and then on top of that getting them into holders. In my opinion, the condition they are in combined with the fact they are graded actually makes them safer to buy.

Scams I recall:

-getting doctored high end condition cards into holders either by fooling the TPG or fabricating/compromising a holder

-counterfeiting a very rare high demand card like a Wagner, Ruth, etc. and distressing it in such a way that it looks old, then trying to sell it raw (estate sale, attic find, grandfather died, etc.)

-counterfeiting a modern card to try to make it a "mint 10" or whatever like a Michael Jordan rookie

But I know nothing about the set, I'm just saying in general I find it unlikely for these not to be legit. Jeff and some of the others would be more help - can you post a thread on the football board or maybe ask Leon to move this one if you still need help?
