As for your other question about the back color, it could possibly have been caused when the ink was mixed. Different batches of ink in slightly different colors. I used to mix paint years ago and even just one drop of toner could throw off the final color of a gallon of paint.

Like some of the other T206 backs, some players are hard to find with a Polar Bear back while others seem more common.

Here are two from my collection along with a trade card.
