It's funny the shipping/importing differences between cards? Some, it looks like it is based on the value of the cards and others, there doesn't seem to be a reason for it? I appreciate the explanation. Thanks again........Dale ![]()

Irv/Dale ... run far away from any auction that is attached to the Global Shipping Program. You are very correct that a $10 cost can quickly become a $50 cost. I can't understand why ebay charges, for example, $25 US shipping on an item that would normally cost $5 shipping. Outside of this program, most items (95%) shipped through regular means will not get stopped by customs and will not have extra duties and taxes added to them, that's just my experience and I buy a fair amount on ebay.
I can speak from experience as I am also located in Canada. Also not sure if you are accessing ebay.ca or ebay.com but note that some US sellers on ebay.com will not ship to Canada. So it's safer to view items on ebay.ca but understand the selection, especially for baseball, will be smaller. You still see US sellers on ebay.ca, but only those that are willing to ship to Canada. Irv -
If you know or visit anyone in the States and plan on buying a lot it might be worth having your shipments sent there, it will be MUCH cheaper in the long run. Of course you'd have to trust your recipient. I have a couple of regular customers from Canada, one lives in Vancouver and has a mail box service in Blaine, WA just across the border that he has me send to. Another lives in Toronto and has a son in Buffalo so he has me send stuff there. |

EBay's Global Shipping has indeed made life difficult for us Colonials. I have had very good luck contacting sellers and asking what they would charge to just put a card in a toploader in a p.w.e..........most seem to be quite reasonable about it, $2 or $2.50...and they seem surprised that Global Shipping to Canada for a single card is something like $16.75. (U.S.$$$), so more like $20 to us. A lot of them lose good potential Canadian business because they aren't aware of this total rip-off that they are party to.

I noticed, out of the 2 cards I purchased last night, the Global one I have still received no info on but the other, International shippers, is already on it's way. Also appreciate the info on E-Bay.ca. I will make sure I use it more/all the time in the future. ![]() http://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling...m/td-p/2728257
