Who is that player, or is it just a facsimile?

Not a depiction of a particular player, just representative. That series used the same head with the big dimples for all teams.

Not my primary collecting focus, but two things that I really like are unusual pennants and boxes.

From the last time the Cubbies participated in the Fall Classic. Thrilled that this is a starting position player who had a pretty good World Series. I have seen rings from the Cubs 1938 appearance, but not one from 1945. Would love to know if there are others out there as well.

I have to catch up on my pickup sharing so I apologize For bringing up old threads. I have pretty much hit my limit for 2016 in spending already so I thought I would share. After all, I enjoy bragging and this is the only chance I get This year.
Attached I have added a very high end Gehrig photo to my collection. It is one of the earliest examples in a Yankee uni and by the master, Charles Conlon to boot(1924). It fits into my early Gehrig Type 1 photo collection. The early ones are the toughies(especially of the top photographers).

"Synonymous with the sport he so thoroughly dominated, Gordie Howe was not only portrayed on the Detroit Red Wings 1967-1968 Gold Base bobblehead doll, but was the likeness on dolls for the remaining teams in the set, as well!" I see that term is used by The Nodder Exchange, too. Although I really don't see the resemblance, great to know as another search term as I try to find the Blues blue sweater version. Thanks!! Jim |

Taken before his first game in 1935 with Boston at the Polo grounds.
