Had an Uncle Marvin Van Horne who lived in Big Sandy Tennessee.
Been gone for many years now, unfortunately. Just a last name I don't see/hear very often. |

Leon, that T206 Speaker you stole was one of my consignments @ Mile High. I know you will enjoy the card even more when you can gaze adoringly at it perched in your hand. Terrific color! Along with the Cobb greenie, Speaker T206s seem to be heating up; it always has been a terrific card. John

Thank you for the post. I do not know if I am any relation to Marvin. The interesting thing is that we, meaning my brothers and I, are nearly the only Van Horns we know. My grandparents divorced when my father was about three. He, my grandfather, remarried and had a daughter and son, but that's about it. My father kept the name Van Horn, but my grandmother remarried and, of course, changed her last name with the ceremony. Somewhere back in the history of the family the "e" was dropped from the end of the last name. |

Van Horne is a huge name for Canadian baseball fans. Dave Van Horne, from Easton, Pennsylvania, called Montreal Expos games for 32 years. (He's now a Marlin) He was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.

He remarried a woman named, Helen and also fought in the Korean war. I don't believe he was originally from Big Sandy Tenn, but I could be wrong. I'll let you know. ![]() |

This was originally purchased a couple months ago but just arrived back from SGC yesterday. Part of my first ever submission.
![]() Apparently tied for the highest graded by SGC.
