I think some of the links have changed, at least from some of the pages. Here's a trick though:

1 ) Go to the gallery link/list you might be interested in. For example, starting with the one you asked about above you might be interested in the N4 set.
2 ) Go here: http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~dan/
3 ) Search for "N4".
4 ) Click on that directory (to go into that directory).
5 ) Click on the "go.html" link. You should get to the gallery.

Another option is start from here: http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~dan/z-ns-start/showtime2.html . This might be even better as the link you initially provided does not contain all the animal tobacco cards. For instance, I notice the T29 (Hassan Animals) conspicuously absent from the "Animals , Birds, & Fish" 'category'.

Still might be good to contact Dan about the problem links, but the above should get you around that until fixes might be made.

All of the links work fine for me, including the ones I gave in my post as well as the ones on the subject page that Bryan linked to (which I didn't see before writing my post). Could it be a browser issue, if some people are having problems? I'm using Chrome right now, and not having any problems seeing the galleries.

Maybe some of them might be related to browser, as I haven't dug too deeply, BUT also... two different links.

From Bryan's initial method (Animals, Birds, and Fish link at http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~dan/z-ns-start/animals.html), if you click on the N4 link it takes you to: http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~dan/z-ns-N4/go.html (which doesn't work for me, 404 error, which isn't a browser issue)

From http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~dan/z-ns-start/all-g.html, the N4 link takes you to http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~dan/N4/go.html (which works fine)

Edited to add: David's list IS pretty comprehensive though, as far as I know (which is less than him)

there are also "albums" and "banners" that bring it all together. I'm partial to 19th century stuff - the lithography and artistry quite spectacular. Your category might include exhibits, bread cards, arm and hammer - the list goes on and ..........

The links in my initial link now all work as Dan fixed them almost immediately. If you come across anything that doesn't work please let him know.

FYI - if the links didn't work for you the first time you tried and they still don't you might need to close and reopen your browser.

You like bird cards? Check out the T90s. They use real feathers of the bird pictured. very labor intensive. Produced around 1912. 30 cards in the set, 29 known.
