Andy, that sideline jacket wasn't from Fusco, I've had it for a few years.

They're getting hard to find

I'm sure this question has already been asked somewhere in this 49 pg thread, but I'm wondering how many still expose their cards/collections to the light by hanging them on the walls etc?

Not 100% sure, obviously, but wouldn't doing that eventually fade/stain the cards or other memorabilia?

Seen some nice high end/pricey stuff going through this thread briefly and in all honesty, it made me cringe!

My stuff is displayed in a climate controlled basement room. The door is nearly always closed, the lights are almost always off and there are no windows.

That's good, but I assume not all of these collections in this thread are looked after quite like your's?

Newbie question. Do the sleeves/jackets/cases help with UVB and UVA rays at all?

My main concern is natural light. My collection is in a room with windows, but I have good shades and blinds that keep out direct light, and I never open them. It can be a bit depressing not having natural light. Incandescent and flourescent bulbs emit some UV, but generally not a concern unless you have very valuable items susceptible to fading.

I have CFL bulbs in my room, and haven't noticed any issues in 20 years. I do keep the lights off when I am not in the room. If I collected autographs or high priced cards I might even think twice about CFL bulbs. If you have any worry, use LED, as they emit little to no UV.

Default UV Museum Glass

Most frame shops offer UV Museum Glass which blocks around 99% of UV radiation and is virtually invisible. It can be several times more expensive than regular glass, but for high value pieces, its worth it. An option for card display is a hinged shadow box with card ledges. Places like Hobby Lobby can make these for less than you think, particularly if you use a standard frame. If you already have a display, they can replace the glass for better UV protection.

Chris, your lighted displays are nothing short of amazing. What kind of bulbs do you use?

Tough to find, but two have shown up recently. I lost out on one, but got the other - will post pics when it arrives.

I'm not so sure, Joey. The K-6 ball recently sold for below what I think they are worth - it is not photo-matched, but was brought to a store and signed by Steven Hauschka. Mine has many photo matches (I was VERY lucky). Value is sort of irrelevant, as mine isn't for sell.

Default Friends collection

Hi Guys:

I recently visited a friend and took photos of his collection.

It reminded me of an old Henny Youngman joke. (look him up you young guys!!) He told a story about two drunks walking along Broadway in NYC when one stumbled down the steps to a subway entrance. The other drunk kept walking and at the end of the block the first drunk came walking back up the steps. His friend asked "where did you disappear to?" The first said, I was in some guys basement, and you should see the set of trains he's got!

That's how I felt in looking at this fabulous collection. Hope you guys enjoy checking it out.

Fred

That's not a collection.
It's a hoard.

Love it. I have a question though...how's he attaching the caps to the wall...specifically the ones in the photo where he's got the Eagles, Bears and Indians caps...

I kind of have the same scattershot (in a good way. There are no rules...just enjoy it) collecting style and would love to display some of my caps but can't figure out how besides tacks.
