I have no idea of the real value, but have to think $1700 is quite a stretch for a store model bat. It does have an interesting tie in with Wagner and I would like to believe that it did come from the Pittsburgh area, which would give credence to the local the in and give it some extra collectability.

From your pictures it looks more like a Massachusetts style town ball bat. The length and the weight and the dimensions would fit that profile.
