Saw that last night. He had just had a kidney transplant a month earlier. RIP Dave.

Donnie Moore committed suicide. A horrible story. Shot his wife beforehand, but she survived.

Loved watching him play as a kid. No one made catching a routine fly ball look more fun than him. He'd bounce around on his tippy toes as he threw the ball back in, smiling the whole time. RIP Hendu.

I remember on every Oakland As game the announcers always had to make sure that the two Henderson's in the OF had 'no relation'...

Yesterday was a bad day in the baseball circles. Henderson, longtime Braves coach Bobby Dews, longtime writer covering the Cardinals Joe Strauss, former Reds pitcher Jim O'Toole and longtime scout Keith Ryman all passed away

Another with 13 players who were with the Pittsburgh Pirates during the regular season, but never played a game. There's also one about 27 baseball families, as well as a day-by-day look at the worst team in Pittsburgh Pirates history. Thanks for the recollection of those memories, Ian...I had forgot about those catches he made. I loved watching him play as he was one of the guys I remember from when I was growing up watching baseball. He, like many other A's players, hit some towering home runs...thanks for the memories hendu, you will not be forgotten.

I can still see him making a catch in the 10th inning of Game 6 of the 1986 World Series and hot dogging it thinking the Red Sox were going to win until Mookie hit the slow roller down the first baseline!
He did hit a home run in the same inning to put the Sox up He will be missed by this Mets fan. RIP |
