It looks to be ink offset from the card that was beneath it.

Cheers, Mike

I've seen several like this. Here's one where just part of the team transferred.

The printing sheets may have gotten wet or the card itself was wet. You can see that the card was stuck to something given the missing portion of the back as the card was pulled away from something.

I have this Raymond with a Becker "ghost" caption on the back.

(Not for sale, just responding to OP).

Scot, Your Raymond is an interesting card, All of the previous cards that I've
seen with this type of transfer have the same player on the front, I think
these transfers occurred at the factory (just my opinion). I know a lot of
people like to make fun of the mention of print defects but if someone
can find a print defect on a PD 350 that is the same on both Raymond and
Becker it could indicate that that they were in the same sheet position on
different sheets and the sheet your Raymond was on was placed on a wet
sheet that had Becker on it at the printing facility.

I'm guessing that these aren't that rare. Oh well can't beat it for $12!

Hi Patrick,
I agree with you that Raymond and Becker likely occupied the same position on at least one T206 sheet.

Posted this in the December pickups thread. It's a Sheckard with a Brown portrait wst on the back; got the name, team, and the red ink from the background of the Brown portrait. That's actually part of the Brown portrait still stuck to the upper right corner (I peeled an edge up and peeked at the color underneath). So if you've got a Mordecai Brown portrait card that's missing a chunk of its upper left corner, I have the rest of your card!

Just going by Josh's scans, it appears that some of the ink from Clark's belt transferred as well.

I circled it in red
