All of the Mets love in NYC feels so phony lately. I'm sure it's just as bad in Chicago, but man. I maybe see 10 people walking around in Mets gear the other 300 days of the year.

It's very true in Wrigley. I'll say and just a guess, but a good guess, and say close to half the stadium is filled with people who were at zero regular season games.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Sorry, still bitter!

True story. My brother who is a "Cubs Fan" hasn't watched a single game this season and hasn't followed baseball at all for about 6-8 years.

Cubs make the playoffs and beat St. Louis and all of a sudden he pops out of nowhere.

Just like a lot of Red Sox fans. The ones I know weren't watching any games this year...............

As a Pirates fan, I lost a lot of respect for Joe Maddon when he joked about Jung Ho Kang having "plantar fasciitis" on the play that could end his career. Next time a Cubs player goes down, I hope Clint Hurdle says "I heard it was plantar fasciitis" and let's see how that goes over.

So glad to see all the hope come crashing down like a lead brick. Not because of you Cubs fans. I feel empathy in that respect. But because of Joe Maddon. F%&$ that d-bag.

I do feel sorry for the Cubs and their fans, but it got somewhat unsettling how quickly the hope turned to arrogance, as if they had already won the whole darn thing. They forget they had to go out and play....seemed they started to just read their won headlines (even the ones from 1985).
