There have been some awesome season passes in this thread. I think the art on the PCL passes is very nice. I only have four and like David's (DRCY) they are much more modern. Despite their recent vintage the 1971 and 1972 passes were very difficult for me to find.
1971 no explanation required 1972 Clemente's 3000th 1973 The Cobra's rookie season 1967 Clemente's 4th and final batting title.

This is a fascinating thread. Here are some of my favorite season passes.
The Indianapolis Indians and the Pittsburgh Pirates are interesting typographically. 1915 Indianapolis Indians front.jpg 1918 Pirates.jpg The Cubs utilized bear-cub images in the early 1920s as these two examples illustrate. Cubs pass 1922.jpg Cubs pass 1923.jpg The 1931 Boston Braves picture former star players on the back of their season pass, including Cy Young in the front row of the wagon. 1931 Braves front.jpg 1931 Braves back.jpg The 1930 Boston Braves season pass medallion is a stunning example. 1930 Boston Braves-front .jpg 1930 Boston Braves-back.jpg The 1939 Giants acknowledged the Centennial year of baseball. 1939 NY Giants season pass frt.jpg Finally, 1949 was the last year the Phillies were known as the Blue Jays. In 1943 Robert R.M. Carpenter assumed control of the Phillies after previous owner, William Cox, lost control of the franchise because he had bet on his team. Carpenter changed the Phillies name to Blue Jays in an effort to clean up the Cox tainted image of the team. The Blue Jays name was dropped in January, 1950. Very nice assortment of teams represented there Mike. Haven't seen any Reds passes as yet, so I thought I'd share a few of mine...

I sometimes wonder whether this 1890s Cleveland pass originally was made for the season but then also used for single-game admissions by adding the rubber stamp along the left edge.

The White Sox and Philadelphia A's produced very nice, thick celluloid passes in the 20s and 30s. The A's passes had schedule backs, always a bonus.
I just like the graphic on the 1941 Millers pass: Last edited by seattlerainiers; 10-17-2015 at 10:57 AM. |
