I finally managed to add some new stuff to my collection. I traded my Pittsburgh Exhibit 5 of Clubs (1 of 1 graded) for the 8 of Clubs (1 of 2 graded) to help a buddy in completing his set. I then scored these sweet, original Phillies Cigar boxes. The backs contain an image of Mantle and an advertisement for the premium photo give away, so they will make great companion pieces.

Love the Clementes, arexcrooke. That '58 is a really beautiful card, probably my favorite of his.

I LOVE the picture of Mick on that clubs card-- he looks awesome in that one.
That is a whole collection of Mantles right above-- and the 62 looks SHARP! This just came. I am beyond stoked on this card. In my experience it is the toughest basic Mick to find in a nice state alongside the 51B. The three problem areas are tilt, centering, and especially focus/registration. The image is often so blurry. Take the 8.5 that PWCC has running as a prime example. I realized that finding the hypothetical specimen with all three attributes was something of a chimera, so my realistic hope was one that is crisply focused, with close to zero tilt, and ideally conceded just top/bottom centering. Pulse rose upon seeing that the image on this one was crystal clear.

New Hank Aaron
Has been a while since I've added to my Hank Aaron collection. In this case, it was a collectible I didn't even know existed.
While I'd known about (and have) the HR 715 "I was there" ballpark certificate, evidently a HR 714 cert was made by the Braves but never distributed (since Aaron hit the home run on the road). Voila! s-l225.jpg
