There were wirephotos in the 1920s, but I don't believe ACME started making them until the 1930s. Wirephoto captions usually have the date of transmission (when they were made) in the caption, so I'd be interest to know what it says in the upper left.
ACME was bought up and the name changed in the 1950s, so it's not a modern photo. Ruth's 60th home run is a particularly significant event, so I'm sure it has some value even though made later. Last edited by drcy; 09-13-2015 at 05:28 PM.

drcy.....thanks for your reply, I appreciate your information.On the back of this telephoto is a stamped "Acme Telephoto" Chicago Bureau. I will need to double-check the date on the top left of this item and get back to you with that information.
