My mom had a hip replacement in June. She was up and about pretty pain free by mid August. Hang in there.

Raymond,
Praying your recovery progresses smoothly, with no repercussions. My dear sister-in-law had excruciating pain prior to her double hip replacement, and surgery made a new woman out of her. It was all good, friend. Take things one day at a time. Don't know what putting the brakes on to life does to you personally, but let it be a perfect time for contemplation, remembering, and thankfulness that this type of operation is so available.  One second hand word of advice. During rehab. if they say do 10 reps. of something do the 10 reps. Don't push it and try to be a He-man. When my mother had her hip done many years ago, she did "10." Her roommate thought more was better, and ended up screwing herself up to the point of a new surgery.
