Default Mantle & Musial Exhibits

My wife convinced me to buy these cards on the way out of the East Coast National. The dealer had to remove the cover from his cases and find the case that had the cards. By the time he did all that I knew I was going to feel obligated to buy the cards.

They were both newly SGC graded. I cracked them both out and brought them back the next day and submitted them to PSA.

Now I'll have to keep these cards forever: Mantle and Musical (how she referred to the cards).

Mantle SGC 7.5
Musial SGC 8

I thought the Mantle was undergraded but felt that if I left it in the SGC holder there was no way PSA would have graded it higher.

I was surprised that Musial went down .5 but was OK with it.

Default Buy The Subgrade , Not The Card

..." Centering : 9.5 " on any '65 Topps leaders card is grounds in itself for hitting the button ; Killer , Boog and Mick on the other side is just icing on the cake...

Picked up some cards out of the mail today and am puuuuummpped!

Ive now got a 54-55-56 Jackie run going. Ill be sending this card in to PSA soon. Centering is just what I was looking for!

I have always loved the simple and clean layout of the 70's

And love this one!

Another Clemente with very solid, to my untrained eyes, centering

Hard to comprehend sometimes how a card can get from 1951 to today and still be pack fresh!
And then there is this card that was included gratis from the seller!

I have never paid a lot of attention to the Exhibits, but I am thinking I need to...

Default Say Hey

...unopened and clean......thankfully it had been stored very well since it was new ..... I was thinking : the kid had fifteen cents ...and he could have bought THREE nickle PACKS of 1952 Topps.... but instead he bought this ---one 1952 "Star Cal Decals" of Willie Mays. Now that's a true fan...we all had our heroes I guess....

..I don't remember which year but Mr. Mays once had twenty stolen bases, 20 doubles , 20 triples , and 20 roundtrips by the end of the regular season.... and those numbers held up all the way
until 2007 , when Curt Granderson of my Tigers also put up those identical stats. Neat.
