Just added a stitch to my pick-ups page to illustrate the similarity of my football folk art carving to the facial art style 12th century English/European carvers used. I happened onto those in an antiques store in Pasadena about a week ago. I don't even know what the style is called...But when I first saw it in Corey Leiby's display case at the National right away I thought the face looked like one of those early grotesque carvings of monks with hoods
