There is certainly a great deal of bid detail provided in his attorney's response, I guess there are some bid records that survived.

How do they know what the ceiling bids were? I thought they were confidential.

I don't think Bill ever claimed that. I think more recently, it has been claimed that as a result of changes to the software, the AH can't -- or can opt not to be able to -- see ceiling bids.

To borrow a line from another thread - sports collectors are the most forgiving bunch of people in existence especially if the perp helped them expand their collection - even with shilled, altered and phony items.

But he has made his name himself among some other notable characters
