The Wagner is at B&L

I'll have to take another gander at it tomorrow - I don't think it quite sunk in.

Enjoyed my first day at the show very much but only made it about a third of the way thru. Looked at dozens ( mAybe 100's) of t206

Only Found 4 I wanted but am extremely happy.

Probably will pick up a big ( for me) card from my want list first thing tomorrow if it is still there .

Went off the grid a little a couple of times - 4 "downtown Freddie Browns" (ot) from a Nickle box, 62 coins Spahn and Frank R and a Pete Rose coke bottle cap.

No luck on t205 commons less than 15 ( not even close)

Also held the Babe Ruth bat ! The only real "gotta see"

I'm at the National all week. Yesterday, I saw the Wagner, three Planks and two/three Magies, along with a Cobb/Cobb back. Also, three T210 Joe Jacksons, and two E90-1 Jacksons. Oh, and the Gehrig bat .

Too many other great pre-WW1 cards to mention!

Steve

The National has got to be a cute girl's wet dream or worst nightmare, depending on her self esteem.

The highlight of the show for me (other than the Wagner) was the Ellery Clark collection. For those who don't know the name, Ellery is the athlete who spearheaded the US sending a team to the 1st Olympic Games in 1896. It is possible that had he not stepped up, the Olympic movement may have flopped without US participation. The success of the US team created publicity in the US for the Olympics and ensured full US participation for future Olympics.

I think one of them was at Heritage Auctions. On the others, I really don't remember. Unfortunately, I'm terrible at remembering who has what. I was driving myself crazy today trying to remember who had what, and where a dealer's booth was. The table/dealer map printed in the program wasn't helpful in many cases either, as it had dealers located at the complete opposite end of the building, from where they actually were.
