g/f is from Rochester and we went a few years ago, she said it has taken a big hit over the years but there are some descent areas and the people are nice. of course like any city that was hit by the bad economy, it has a rough area.

Niagra Falls is about an hour and 15 min drive and well worth it, Toronto blue jays are another hour and 15 mins past that and although they weren't in town, the stadium is cool

coincidently, she worked for Kodak in the executive office way back when...

One other place: If you have time to drive an hour or so, Letchworth State Park is amazing! Three waterfalls, one of which is pretty darned impressive. A lot less hassle than Niagara, with lots of parking and pretty sights.
